Board Member Spotlight

Laura McGortey recently stepped into the role of Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the CCBC Foundation. She joined the Board in June 2021, serving as a Director for three years before becoming Vice Chairperson last year.

Laura is a 1988 graduate of CCBC, holding an Associate of Science in Business. She later earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business from La Roche University and an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

She credits her start at CCBC as the launchpad for a career that has taken her into global transaction banking, while staying rooted in the greater Pittsburgh region.

Currently, Laura is the Director and Product Group Manager at Synovus, where she leads the Payments Product Group within Treasury and Payment Solutions. She is responsible for product strategy across a diverse portfolio, with a focus on innovation, client experience, and operational excellence.

Previously, she served as a Director in Capgemini’s Cards and Payments Practice, and earlier held leadership roles at BNY Mellon, where she led complex global payment solution initiatives.

Laura and her husband, Charles, have been married for 31 years and have an adult daughter, Lindsay. She enjoys beach vacations, time with family, gardening, and preparing great weekend meals.
